Gel polish application & removal
Gel polish is a type of nail polish to which gel has been added. Because of this, the varnish stays longer and better. Gel varnish has to be cured under a LED or UV lamp and is then immediately dry. The texture of gel polish is a lot firmer and thicker than regular nail polish.
If you use the right products from Pink Gellac step by step, we guarantee that the manicure or pedicure will last for 14 days.
Do you want to start with gel polish? Then it's best to choose our Pink Gellac starter kits. They contain everything you need!
Do you already have a lamp or a number of colours? All the necessities are also available separately. You can always discuss with us which products you should choose.
If you apply our gel polish correctly, it will last up to 14 days. Is this not the case for you? Then you probably skipped a product or a step. Also read our advice on when gel polish is peeling off and what you can do about it!
Gel polish never dries in the air, but only with the lamp. Also be aware that a base layer and a colour layer never dry. This allows all layers to adhere to each other. Only after applying the topcoat does the Pink Gellac dry. Please note that our lacquer works best under a 7-15 watt LED lamp.
Does the Pink Gellac stick? This is easy to fix. The Shine Top Coat leaves a sticky layer after curing. This layer is easy to remove with a Cleaner.
It can happen that the Pink Gellac is applied too thickly. We recommend applying Pink Gellac in thin layers. Make sure you stroke the brush well on both sides. If you find it difficult to apply thin layers, you can warm the pot beforehand by rolling it between your hands for a minute (do not shake!) or by holding it under a hot tap. This will make the texture a little thinner.
If Pink Gellac gives wrinkles or bubbles, it could mean that the varnish has been applied too thickly. Some colours are so highly pigmented that it is important to apply the lacquer thinly. Otherwise the drying lamp cannot cure the layers properly and wrinkles and/or bubbles will form. Applying Pink Gellac in the right way? Read here how to do it best!
Discolouration of the Pink Gellac can have several causes. Do you spend a lot of time in the sun? Then the discolouration could be a result of UV radiation. Discolouration is in fact a consequence of UV radiation. If you spend a lot of time in the sun, we recommend using our Shine topcoat. This topcoat contains a UV filter that counteracts discolouration better!
Pink Gellac cures through UV radiation. In order to prevent excess curing, it is good to be aware of the following situations.
- When painting the nails in the sun
- While painting the nails in the window
- Or while painting the nails under the lamp
Pink Gellac is absolutely suitable for your toenails, just use the Large LED lamp.
