A Gel polish is a thicker polish that needs to be cured under a LED or UV lamp so it can dry. This process enables the paint to last longer. The right LED lamp needs to be used so that gel polish can dry as intended. Pink Gellac Gel Polishes have been cured with 7 watts to 15 watts LED lamps. This strengthen and protects the nails but will not enable nails to increase in length. The gel polish lasts longer when compared to regular nail polish.

If you use the right products from Pink Gellac step by step, we guarantee that the manicure or pedicure will last for 14 days.

To enjoy a Pink Gellac manicure you need the Pink Gellac Cleaner, Pink Gellac Prep Booster, Pink Gellac Base Coat, Pink Gellac Colour Polish and Pink Gellac Top Coat. Pink Gellac recommends using an 7 watts - 15 watts LED lamp when applying the products. Check out our starter kits.

You can use Pink Gellac Remover, Pink Gellac Nail Wipes or Pink Gellac Remover Pockets. You can remove you nail polish after 14 days by simply filing off the top coat of your polish and then applying Pink Gellac Remover. When you use the Peel Base as a Base Coat, the nail polish effortlessly comes off the nails just like a sticker, soaking your nails in some oil will hasten the process. If you apply our gel polish correctly, it will last up to 14 days. Is this not the case for you? Then you probably skipped a product or a step. Also read our advice on when gel polish is peeling off and what you can do about it!

Gel polish never dries in the air, but only with the lamp. Also be aware that a base layer and a colour layer never dry. This allows all layers to adhere to each other. Only after applying the topcoat does the Pink Gellac dry. Please note that our lacquer works best under a 7-15 watt LED lamp.

Is Pink Gellac’s Top Coat supposed to be sticky? You can fix this easily. After it is cured, the Shine Top Coat leaves a sticky layer. You can remove this sticky layer with our Pink Gellac Cleaner.

This usually happens when you have applied too much of Pink Gellac gel polish. We recommend applying a thin coat of Pink Gellac’s gel polish. Stroke the nail evenly. If you are unable to apply a thin layer, you can roll the bottle gently between your hands for a minute or let warm/hot water from the tap run over the bottle for a few seconds. Do not shake the bottle. Either of these steps will make the texture thinner.

Wrinkles or bubbles on your nails after applying the gel polish, indicates that the polish has been applied too thickly. Due to the high pigmentation present in many colors, apply a thin layer of the gel polish. A thick layer cannot be cured by the LED lamp resulting in wrinkles and bubbles forming. Discolouration of the Pink Gellac can have several causes. Do you spend a lot of time in the sun? Then the discolouration could be a result of UV radiation. Discolouration is in fact a consequence of UV radiation. If you spend a lot of time in the sun, we recommend using our Shine topcoat. This topcoat contains a UV filter that counteracts discolouration better!

Please avoid applying our gel polish and other regular polishes in direct sunlight or partially shady areas. A small tip: to enjoy our product longer, avoid applying our gel polish standing near a sunny window as it may harden. Avoid keeping your polish bottles too close to the LED lamp. To enjoy your product longer, we recommend storing them in a dark place.

Pink Gellac is absolutely suitable for your toenails, we recommend to use our Pro LED lamp size L of 7 to 15 watts.

Pink Gellac offers a number of LED lamps that are suitable for our products. Our LED lamps have been designed keeping our products in mind, so with our lamps you will enjoy a quality product. If you want to purchase your own lamp do keep the wattage in mind. Our HEMA-free formula cures well under 7 watts to 15 watts LED lamps. Our range of PRO line products can be used with LED lamps between 7 watts to 15 watts or a 36 watt UV lamp. It is important to replace your UV lamp every two years.

By both European and US authorities, the use of lamps for curing gel polish is considered safe. The lamps used by Pink Gellac only emit UV-A radiation. Scientific research shows that the actual exposure under normal use is well below the risk level for UV-A light. The Dutch Cosmetics Association also states research shows that using UV lamps for applying gel polish leads to very low additional skin exposure to UV radiation. Nail dryers with UV light are therefore safe when used normally. The website of the Dutch Cosmetics Association also has an extensive information sheet which covers this issue.

Recent research has been carried out in a laboratory on the exposure to UV light from lamps for curing gel polish. This involved testing with 2 times 20 minutes of UV light from the lamp in 1 day or 3 times 20 minutes in 3 days. Based on this large exposure to UV-A radiation, DNA damage was observed in the skin samples. This damage could potentially lead to skin cancer. However, the exposure (in minutes) in this study was 9,000% and 18,000% greater than when using the lamps as prescribed by Pink Gellac. With normal use of the LED lamp, your skin will after all, only be exposed to UV-A radiation for 3 to 4 minutes every 14 days. Fortunately, there are no signs that normal use is harmful.

Pink Gellac relies on European and US government regulations and advice. For example, the US government refers to a 2013 scientific study. That study showed no safety risk with normal use of the LED lamp. We therefore advise you to use the lamp as stated in the manual. The Dutch Cosmetics Association also states research shows that using UV lamps for applying gel polish leads to very low additional skin exposure to UV radiation. No, the lamp for the gel polish gives only UV-A radiation and a sunbed gives both UV-A and UV-B radiation. UV-B is the most harmful, which is why tanning bed studios are also strictly controlled. Apart from the UV-B radiation, your skin will also be exposed to UV radiation for much longer (20 minutes on average) during a tanning session, while for an LED lamp this is 3-4 minutes (3-4 times 60 seconds). The lamps by Pink Gellac only emit UV-A radiation and are not harmful when used normal.

To fully protect yourself from UV-A radiation (even when the sun is not shining, UV-A radiation is present outside) you can use day cream or hand creams with an SPF filter. These products block the radiation outside (daylight) and inside. Pink Gellac also sells UV Protection Gloves. All of our products are of course free of animal testing and most of our products also contain ingredients that are 100% vegan as well. This means that no animal ingredients have been used.

Most of the products of Pink Gellac are HEMA-free. Hema is a substance widely used in the production of ink, plastic, coatings, nail polish, and dental materials. Some people may be allergic to it. We have developed our products HEMA-free to ensure that you do not develop an allergic reaction even with years of use.

5-Free means that a product is made without the use of: Toluene, Dibutyphthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin or Camphor. These are the 5 harmful substances found in many nail polishes. Although the use of our products is completely safe for your unborn child, we do not recommend it during pregnancy. Hormone fluctuations can cause your nails to become oily or dry. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the 14-day adhesion.
