Pink Gellac Statement on TPO Regulations
TPO-free formulas
As of September 1, 2025, the ingredient TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide) will no longer be permitted in cosmetics within the European Union. This so-called photo-initiator, which allows gel polish to cure under UV or LED light, may not be used in products for the European market from that date onwards.
Pink Gellac has proactively adjusted formulas since 2021
All Pink Gellac consumer products have been completely TPO-free since 2022. This adjustment was made quietly and without any impact on quality or user experience.
Still have an older product at home? If in doubt, check the label for the full ingredient name: Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide (not to be confused with Trimethylolpropane Trimethacrylate or Ethyl Trimethylbenzoyl Phenylohosphina).
Expert opinions
Transparency and safety remain top priorities for Pink Gellac. With TPO-free formulas, HEMA-free products, and clear communication about ingredients, the brand addresses both regulatory requirements and user health concerns.
An expert panel was previously introduced: professionals who deal, to varying degrees, with allergies and their potential effects. The panel includes an orthopedic surgeon, a dermatologist, a dentist/implantologist, a toxicologist, and manufacturers of bone cement and contact lenses.
Each expert has issued an official statement regarding their area of expertise in relation to allergies. More information and a detailed statement are available here.
