Pink Gellac and UV radiation
Summer is right around the corner! Now that the weather is getting warmer, it’s the perfect time to upgrade your nails with a bright summer gel polish colour.
Will you pick a soft pastel colour or will you go for a bright neon shade?
What could be more fun than being out in the open air, enjoying the sun and painting your nails at the same time? A combination that would make everyone happy right? The only thing is, that gel polish doesn’t appreciate the sun as much as we do. What many customers don’t realise is that UV radiation is all around us. If you don’t keep this in mind, your gel polish brush will harden and worst case scenario, your gel polish as well.
Common mistakes are:
- Applying gel polish outside, even in the shade there is still UV radiation and also close to a window
- Applying gel polish while the LED lamp is still on
- Not immediately closing the gel polish bottle after curing nails under the LED lamp
If your Pink Gellac gel polish has been exposed to UV radiation it might be that your gel polish has hardened and can no longer be used. We understand that this is a bummer and unfortunately there is nothing to do about it. Therefore, we strongly advise you to avoid the common mistakes. On some occasions the damage is not too bad and the UV radiation only causes the brush to harden. This is an indicator that you have exposed your Pink Gellac to UV radiation.
Has the brush hardened or cured due to UV light? Luckily, we have a solution! On the Pink Gellac website, we sell a set of 2 brushes so you can keep using your bottle of gel nail polish! Get this set with your next order so you always have a spare brush at home! Which colour is your favourite at the moment? Let us know on Instagram.
