Fact: “If a product complies with European laws and regulations, consumers can be assured it is safe to use.”

Every cosmetics manufacturer must demonstrate the safety of their cosmetic product before offering it on the market. A safety assessor prepares a product safety report, based on the toxicological properties of the product’s ingredients and the level of exposure.

This is monitored by the NVWA (Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority). Europe has the strictest laws regarding cosmetic safety; therefore, buying a product from a website outside the EU may involve additional risks.

Myth: “All gel nail polish is suitable for home use.”

Always check the label for phrases like "For professional use only". These products often contain ingredients with a higher risk of triggering allergies, particularly HEMA and di-HEMA. Always check the packaging before purchasing to ensure it's approved for consumer use.
