How to Store Your Gel Polish Properly?

If you want your gel polish to stay smooth, pigmented, and easy to apply, proper storage is key. Many people don’t realise that the way you store your gel polish can affect its texture, colour consistency, and shelf life. In this blog, we’ll break down some simple but important facts about how to store your gel polish – and how the right storage tools can help.

Keep It Cool – But Not Too Cold

Gel polish is sensitive to temperature changes. Ideally, you should store your bottles and your Premium Storage Case in a cool, dry place – not too warm, and definitely away from direct sunlight. Heat can cause the gel to thicken or separate over time, while exposure to cold (like storing it near a window in winter) can also alter the formula. Room temperature, around 15–20°C, is the sweet spot.

Avoid Direct Light – Especially UV

Light, particularly UV light, can start curing the gel polish even while it’s still in the bottle. This is why you should never store your gel polish near a window, under bright lights, or leave it open for long during application. If you’ve ever noticed a thick, gloopy polish that won’t apply smoothly – it may have started to cure due to light exposure.

Choose a storage solution that protects your gel polishes. Whether it’s a drawer unit or a high quality Premium Storage Case.

Store Upright and Close Tightly

Always store your gel polish bottles upright and make sure the lids are properly closed. This helps prevent leaking and keeps air from getting in – which can thicken the polish over time. Shaking the bottle gently before use can also help keep the formula even, especially with highly pigmented or glitter shades.
