New: Nail Art Tattoos – What Is It & How To Use

Summer is not over yet, which is why we are launching a brand new product you haven't seen from Pink Gellac before: Meet the Nail Art Tattoos - From now on, you don't have to be a nail art pro to apply elaborate, flashy designs to your nails yourself. Have you already become as excited as we are? Read on below.
What are Nail Art Tattoos?

Nail Art Tattoos can be compared to nail stickers, but there is still some difference between those two. Nail Art Tattoos, also known as water slide decals, are thin flexible designs on a small paper sheet and transferred to the nail by water.

But what is the difference between Nail Art Tattoos and nail art stickers? Nail art stickers are self-adhesive and are usually applied with a Nail Art Tweezer while Nail Art Tattoos need to be wetted with water before they detach from the paper sheet. Unlike nail art stickers, Nail Art Tattoos or water slide decals are thin and flexible. As a result, they mould easily to the nail, giving a smooth finish. This also makes the top coat adhere better, contributing to a longer-lasting and more beautiful result. You don't need brushes, multiple colours of nail gel polish, or other materials. Just water, a cotton swab and a top coat will do!

How do You Use the Nail Art Tattoos?

To apply the Nail Art Tattoos, you will need the following:

Step by step

Step 1

After performing your regular gel polish manicure routine, you can start by applying the desired gel polish colour. You can also apply the Nail Art Tattoos directly onto the (rubber) base coat! Make sure the base coat or colour is cured for 60 seconds under the LED lamp.

Tip: Use a neutral gel polish colour as a base so that the Nail Art Tattoos are clearly visible on the nails. For this look, 419 Marshmallow Nude was used.

Step 2

Take the Nail Art Tattoos sheet and the Nail Art Stamp out of the packaging. Take the protective cap of the Nail Art Stamp and pour a small amount of water into it - A little goes a long way!

Step 3

Wet the cotton swab by dipping it in the protective cap with water and then wet the Nail Art Tattoo on the back of the sheet.

Step 4

Take the Nail Art Stamp and press it onto the Nail Art Tattoo you want to apply. Because the water slide decal is wet, it comes loose and you can easily pick it up with the Nail Art Stamp. The Nail Art Tattoo only comes off the sheet when it is wet, so don't be afraid of accidentally picking up several tattoos at once.

step 5

Once the Nail Art Tattoo is on the transparent cushion of the Nail Art Stamp, press it onto the place on the nail where you want to place the water slide decals.

Step 6

For the final step, apply top coat all over the nail and let it cure for 60 seconds under the LED lamp. The top coat ensures that the water decals are sealed and protected.

What Nail Art Tattoos are There?

Water slide decals are popular for their detailed and complex designs that are difficult to paint by hand - We introduce two different Nail Art Tattoos sheets: Signature & Butterfly Bliss. The Signature sheet contains mainly flowers, hearts and flame water slide decals. If you are more in a romantic mood, the Butterfly Bliss sheet contains bows, roses, hearts and butterfly water slide decals. As far as we are concerned, both sheets are perfect for applying a late summer nail art.

Extra tip: You can also apply the Nail Art Tattoos with the Nail Art Tweezer instead of the Nail Art Stamp. You then wet the back of the sheet with a wet cotton swab, in the same way you do when using the Nail Art Stamp. Once the Nail Art Tattoo is wet, you can pick it up with the Nail Art Tweezer and place it on the nail at the desired place.

Even as a beginner, you can quickly and easily get professional designs on your nails without having to be experienced in nail art. Which Nail Art Tattoo sheet is your favourite? Don't forget to share your Nail Art Tattoos manicure on Instagram and tag @pinkgellac or use #pinkgellac
